In Zack Snyder’s Watchmen, after a daring rescue from a building blaze, Dan Dreiberg (also known as Nite Owl) and Laurie Juspeczyk invite the saved individuals into the Owl Ship and serve them coffee. The brew? The fictional “Nite Owl Dark Roast” by Veidt Enterprises. Now, admirers of both film and coffee can savor their very own Nite Owl blend.
Clay Enos, the on-set photographer for Watchmen, collaborated with his coffee venture, Organic Coffee Cartel (OCC), to create this film-inspired coffee in a novel promotional move. A share of the earnings from this unique roast will be directed towards charitable causes.
Enos remarks, “Transforming a conceptual coffee into a tangible product felt like a whimsical yet apt tribute to the multifaceted universe of Watchmen. Allocating a significant part of the revenue to philanthropic efforts mirrors something [Watchmen character] Adrian Veidt might opt for.”
In addition to rolling out the collector’s coffee can, the OCC is also hosting a sweepstake where a fortunate individual stands a chance to bag two passes to the Los Angeles debut and post-event of Watchmen on March 3rd, 2009.
This limited-release coffee showcases a monochromatic depiction by Enos of Patrick Wilson, donning the Nite Owl superhero persona, embellishing the container’s exterior.
